About Me

Hi I'm Marci.

I am a mobile Registered Massage Therapist working in Edmonton.

What brought me to massage

I came to massage therapy through a long fascination with anatomy and a belief that good clinical care should feel not only therapeutic, but also genuine. What matters most to me in my practice is providing treatment grounded in research, a setting the client is comfortable with, and exemplary professionalism.

How I work.

My care is trauma-informed, consent-based, and evidence-led. I'll ask questions to ensure comfort and that needs are met. I will also always explain what I'm doing, and why, if you want to know.

I am able to provide pressure that suits any client from gentle to deep tissue work. For very deep work, I always warm the tissue up first to ensure safety and comfort. I want you to leave each session in a state of rest and recovery.

Every session ends with two or three home-care suggestions written down for you such as stretches, strengthening exercises, or mobility cues. The aim of home care is to make the time between sessions as impactful as the massage itself.

A note on Type 1 Diabetes

I live with T1D. It changes how I prepare but never the quality of the work.

Massage can be strenuous exercise, and exercise can dramatically increase insulin sensitivity. Because my pancreas can't dial insulin output up or down on its own, I manage that with a continuous glucose monitor and carbohydrates I keep close at hand. Occasionally, that means I'll pause a session for a few seconds to eat something.

A note on gender

I'm non-binary and use they/them pronouns.

I mention it up front because some people have a clear preference for a male or female therapist, and that's worth knowing before you book rather than after. I'm comfortable working with anyone, and respect is always mutual.
